The Poker Lifestyle

There are many instances wherein poker is presented in a very romantic and savvy way, as one can see it being referred to by various films, especially in James Bond films and novels like that in Casino Royal. Poker, some say, is a game where luck and skill is often times intertwined, and that having skill and a good strategy can always bring you a bigger and better advantage over the rest of the players.

But hold on there a minute! Some would also take a stand point and say that skill can be a really over-rated aspect in a game of poker, and at occasional instances in time, a certain, non-descript player who is not as good as the really experienced poker player, may be able to win, despite the odds that may be against his favor. This is the important element of luck that has come in to the picture. Usually, in a lot of poker tournaments, one may require far more amounts of luck in order to reach the final round or the final table. There is certainly some truth to the saying that having a set of great cards and a certain amount of courage or guts can certainly carry the player on luck's wings and fly in to the succeeding level of the tournament. Such is the game of poker today.

One may often see being portrayed on television or in various magazines, the lifestyles of many successful poker players who have earned their right to be called one of the best, and have gotten rich with the help of playing poker. But as romantic or as easy as it may sounds, it is not really THAT easy, especially when most have been very lucky indeed! Even the most skilled of players may end up getting beaten by someone who has less experience than he does due to the great luck factor that is involved in the poker game, be it in any variation of poker, whether it is Texas Hold 'Em, No Limit Poker, and the like! Luck and Chance plays a great role in all of these.

Some people may say that poker is an easy game, and some may say it is a difficult game to earn a big amount of money from. Of course, the truth of this would lie greatly on not just the skill of a particular player, but would also depend greatly on the amount of luck that he has during a particular game.
